La Salle College Macroom
Charity Work Our students participate in many fund raising events for charity during the year. Every Christmas, our Transition Year students spend two days collecting money for the Macroom Charities Appeal- this benefits charities such as the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the COPE Foundation, Meals On Wheels and Macroom Senior Citizens. During the past year, a charity walk by our 1st and 2nd year students generated nearly €3000 for Our Lady's Hospital for sick children in Crumlin. Also, Our Transition Year students raised almost €1000 for the Hope Foundation through the sales of Butler's chocolate bars. As well as this, a no-uniform day was used to raise funds for the Simon Community. Diocesan Pilgrimage The College sends 4 students each year on the Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes.
